December Events in Gatlinburg
Christmas is truly in the air once calendars turn to the month of December, and aside from the Gatlinburg events related to the Gatlinburg Winter Magic activities, there are others to look forward to, including Gatlinburg’s Annual Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade filled with floats and bands on December 7.
Fun Gatlinburg activities abound with the Christmas on Ice event on the 8th and 9th of the month. Skaters show their prowess on the ice while performing to tunes befitting the holiday spirit. Admission is free for everyone wanting to watch, and the event will be held at Ober Gatlinburg.
The perfect way to celebrate a year filled with Gatlinburg attractions is by going to the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop & Fireworks on the 31st at the Historic Nature Trail at Space Needle. An awesome fireworks display will welcome in the New Year while guests are entertained all throughout the night.

Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade
Gatlinburg will hold its annual Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade on Friday, December 7 starting at 7:30 p.m. with cheers to an anticipated crowd of more than 80,000 spectators. The parade brings excitement to all ages and includes more than 100 parade entries, balloons, and over a dozen marching bands from Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia.

Christmas on Ice
Come out and enjoy the spirit of the holiday season as local skaters display their talents and skills on ice to the sounds of holiday music in a two-day performance at Ober Gatlinburg’s ice arena.

New Year’s Eve Ball Drop & Fireworks
Gatlinburg will ring in the New Year in inimitable style with its 25th annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks Show. The event will take place around the intersection of the Parkway/Historic Nature Trail, at the base of the Space Needle on Saturday night, December 31. Before the stroke of midnight, come out and celebrate with music and friends on the balcony of the Gatlinburg Convention Center at the Historic Nature Trail/Airport Road entrance.
